A picture I've had for a few years of my mother's grandmother. The Racer family originally came
from the town of Quakenbrück in Gemany where Sophia's father was born in 1815.
They settled in Rotterdam and Sophia later married Willem Adriaan Lensvelt.
Before the turn of the century however, she divorced him and moved to England
where she became head of the household at 'Hewell Grange', the stately countryhome of
Robert Windsor, first earl of Plymouth...
