"December 14th  1983 Paquita and I got married in the United Nations Chapel in New York City. I left the U.S. 3 days later to start a new job in the Hague, Holland and Paquita followed in mid January. By then she was some three months pregnant. She had never before been outside the United States and had to plunge into a new life in a new country with a strange language, hardly any people she knew and brand new in-laws. No easy feat... In February we visited my parents in their home in Zeeland or Sealand. One of its widest, wildest and most beautiful beaches is called the Oranjezon or "Orange Sun" at the most western tip of the former island of Walcheren. When I was a child my family had done a lot of wild camping on beaches like this one (see several pictures in my album 'docman's childhood) but by 1984 that was certainly out of the question... Still, a nice shot from 36 years ago..."
