Who is Tinie? A distant relative, for sure. She was born in St. Petersburg on June 18th 1894 which makes it more than likely she is from the Engberts side of the family. (my great-grandfather married an Engberts girl. The Engberts were Dutch merchants in Russia and were based in St. Petersburg until the fall of the tzarist empire and the birth of the communist state.) How do I know? In the old album Tinie's name, birthplace and birth date are written in pencil under the picture... Beautiful portrait though!
